Rice Agro-ecosystem and Environmental Research Group

The Rice Agro-ecosystem and Environmental Research Group (RAER) of the Department of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences (DiSAFA) at the University of Torino, is a cross-sector research group focusing on the complex dynamics that characterize rice cropping systems in a changing environment. Based on a transdisciplinary approach, our research and education programmes aim at bringing together expertise to provide essential process- and system-based understanding of the functioning of rice agro-ecosystems, in order to tackle the challenges rice cropping systems are facing in terms of global food security and safety, environmental sustainability, protection of limited natural resources, and adaptation to climate change.
